Casa Romantica, Punta Camorro, Tarifa
Sleeps 2
Casa Romántica is located in Punta Camorro a relatively unknown area of Tarifa even to the locals. Once a military zone it is now a secluded country track that brings you right to the edge of Spanish land, to the protected Straits of Gibraltar Park, and a stones throw from Morocco. It is one of the few places in Tarifa that leads directly onto the shore, at just 50m away. It is the ideal destination for a couple looking for relaxation, privacy and a unique experience in an area of supreme natural beauty.
The house sleeps two people comfortably in an 60m²open-plan studio with kitchenette, sitting and bedroom; the design is simple but homely. It is surrounded by 5,000m² of grassy cliff-top gardens with vistas that defy belief. A 210º panoramic view of two continents; the Atlantic ocean, and the Mediterranean sea, complete with dolphins diving and the most important bird migration routes from Europe to Africa passing directly overhead. Amazing to be this remote, so ensconced in nature, yet only 3km/8 minute drive to Tarifa town!
The house is completely autonomous producing electricity from the wind and sun, and water comes from the local springs, and why not pick your own vegetables from Paco's magnificent kitchen garden.....your carbon footprint will be minimal!

Guest Reviews
We have stayed in Casa Romantica for almost two weeks in the middle of november. The Casa is comfortable, the surrounding is beautiful, and the silence superb. The cows add a nice sound and sight to it all. You can walk to Tarifa along a beautiful costal path or take a short trip with your car along a bumpy road.

Wonderfully quiet. Most inspiring sea view ever. Marcos was a wonderful host, very much enjoyed the vegetables from the garden.

This has to be one of the most relaxing holiday I've had yet. I stayed here in July and could not get over how beautiful and serene the area was. The Casa is situated in a quiet corner of the natural park and you really feel like you're the only person for miles around. The property boasts incredible views over the ocean to Morocco which are absolutely breath taking. It’s only a short distance to town and the beach and the owner (Marcos) is fabulous! We couldn't have asked for a friendlier or more helpful host! The interior was tastefully decorated and very clean. If you're looking for something just a little different to your stock standard hotel I would not hesitate in recommending this property.

My memories of the days and nights I spent at the chalet with the incredible views to Morocco will stay with me for the rest of my life. The photos I took while there don't do it justice.

The Casa, the view of Morocco, the great meditative walks to Tarifa and the relaxing, warm welcome

I am tempted to keep this little treasure to myself! but luckily Marcos, the owner, shares his little paradise.
We were met by the house manager Paco - such a lovely man, always there with a smile and willing to help in any way he could.
The cottage is situated in the most idyllic setting - the views as in the photographs are amazing.
Tarifa itself is just a short distance away and has a friendly feel, unspoilt by tourism.
We didn't feel the need to eat out here; we enjoyed memorable barbeques in the garden with the best views in town.
However long you stay here I can assure you it won’t be enough - we have left a piece of our hearts in this lovely place.

The last thing this magical place needs is publicity.
The view from Casa de la Costa could not be more beautiful and more exclusive than what this extraordinary location is offering. We were absolutely mesmerized ...
Tastefully decorated casa with a good selection of books and dvds perfectly blends in the picturesque surroundings ... You can’t want for anything (unless of course you are a big fan of dishwasher and microwave oven) and even if- there is always Paco(!)-' the faithful guardian of the casa ',the helping hand ,the biological gardener and the tourist guide of the area .
Do not be afraid of the wind - you can always hide in the bamboo hut with a good book and a glass of wine (Marcos thought about everything!) with a private view of Africa. If you prefer more action -just decide for one of the many beautiful beaches to face the wind on your board or simply feel the warmth of sand under your feet.
Tarifa is a small, cute city still untouched by a mass tourism (what a relief to find such a place!)
Even during a high season (July) you do not feel overcrowded and can enjoy little local restaurants and tourist attractions without queuing and getting frustrated ;)
If you want to explore the area just drive 10 km from Tarifa to discover the Roman Ruins of Baelo Claudia or the stunning view from the hill of Vejer de la Fronterea .
It was an enjoyable stay for all of us!
If we will be back?- yes, this year!

Imagine this : You meet to get the keys at a nearby grocery store, you follow a friend named Paco in his truck with his family through the backroads of Tarifa, driving through an abandoned military base. You pass cactus and cattle, and as you think you might drive off a cliff, the ocean at your side, you see your house. Run by a windmill and heated by gas, you rely on nothing else. Your back yard is on the top of a cliff overlooking africa. It was sunny around 80 degrees Fahrenheit but windy enough you weren't miserable in heat. A steep hike down to the nitty gritty shore line is a must. Beautiful coast with sea creatures everywhere and a 2 mile rugged path to downtown. It was heaven, and we will return.
